METHOD FOR MAKING SILYLAROYLHALIDES AND REACTION PRODUCTIONS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is provided for making silylaroylhalides such as chlorodimethylsilylbenzoyl chloride. Reaction is effected between substantially equivalent amounts of a polyhaloacyl aromatic compound, for example, terephthaloyl chloride and a polyhalopolysilane such as dichlorodisilane in the presence of a palladium catalyst.
