ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus for the manufacture of a diaphragm from a fabric-containing sheet (material) are dis- closed. The fabric-containing sheet produced by an extrusion molding machine in a width which is a multiple of the diameter of diaphragms to be manufactured is continuously fed in fixed pit- ches to a press vulcanizing device and a punching device, to per- mit automation of the manufacture of diaphragms and an appreci- able reduction in the number of steps. This invention, thus, improves the yield of materials used, permits down sizing of the production equipment, and reduces the motive power consumption.
