A method for manufacturing a protection cover (1) for use on bobbins (2) is described. The protection cover (1) is used to protect the bobbin (2) during treatment and transportation, including dyeing. The protection cover (1) is made by knitting a tubular cover. Said cover is arranged on the bobbin (2) in a loose condition. Afterwards, a shrinking of the cover is effected, so that it shrinks around the bobbin (2) in order to bear against the cylinder surface (4) of the bobbin and edge areas (6) of the end surfaces (5). As the cover is not fully shrunk prior to its application, this can easily take place without the risk of damaging the outer yarn layers in the bobbin. A subsequent removal of the cover is done easily by lifting it off in one area of the bobbin. Provided that a tearing thread is provided, this outwards directed traction can be used to tear the thread at the same time, so that the protection cover is easily removed without the risk of damaging the outer yarn layers in the bobbin (2).
Cette invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une couverture de protection (1) destinée à des canettes (2) de fil, laquelle couverture (1) permet de protéger ces canettes (2) pendant leur traitement et leur transport, ainsi que pendant le processus de teinture. Cette couverture de protection (1) est obtenue en tricotant une couverture tubulaire qui est disposée à l'état relâché sur la canette (2). On effectue ensuite un rétrécissement de la couverture de manière à ce qu'elle se resserre autour de la canette (2), et à ce qu'elle se plaque contre la surface du cylindre (4) de cette dernière et contre les zones angulaires (6) des surfaces d'extrémité (5). Etant donné que la couverture n'est complètement rétrécie avant son application, ce procédé peut être mené à bien sans endommager les couches de fil externes de la canette. Cette couverture peut être retirée facilement en la tirant au niveau d'une zone de la canette. Cette invention prévoit également la coupure du fil qui peut se faire simultanément en utilisant cette traction dirigée vers l'extérieur, ce qui permet de retirer facilement la couverture sans courir le risque d'endommager les couches de fil externes de la canette (2).
