A method for manufacturing a cooling plate (10) for a metallurgical furnace comprising the steps of providing a slab (11) of metallic material, the slab (11) having a front face (14), an opposite rear face (16) and four side edges; and providing the slab (11) with at least one cooling channel (30) by drilling at least one blind borehole (40) into the slab (11), wherein the blind borehole (40) is drilled from a first edge (22) towards an opposite second edge (24). In accordance with an important aspect of the present invention, the method comprises the further steps of deforming the slab (11) in such a way that a first edge region (46) of the slab (11) is at least partially bent towards the rear face (16) of the slab (11); and machining ex-cess material from the front and rear faces (14, 16) of the slab (11) to produce a cooling plate (10) having a panel-like body (12) wherein an opening to the cooling channel (30) is located in the rear face (16).
Procédé de fabrication dune plaque (10) de refroidissement pour four métallurgique comportant les étapes consistant à mettre en place une dalle (11) en matériau métallique, la dalle (11) présentant une face avant (14), une face arrière (16) opposée et quatre bords latéraux ; et à munir la dalle (11) dau moins un conduit (30) de refroidissement en forant au moins un trou borgne (40) dans la dalle (11), ledit trou borgne (40) étant foré à partir dun premier bord (22) en direction dun deuxième bord (24) opposé. Selon un aspect important de la présente invention, le procédé comprend les étapes supplémentaires consistant à déformer la dalle (11) de telle façon quune première région (46) de bord de la dalle (11) soit au moins partiellement coudée en direction de la face arrière (16) de la dalle (11) ; et à enlever par usinage du matériau excédentaire des faces avant et arrière (14, 16) de la dalle (11) pour produire une plaque (10) de refroidissement dotée dun corps (12) semblable à un panneau, une ouverture donnant sur le conduit (30) de refroidissement étant située sur la face arrière (16).
