A method for producing a masking material wherein a thermoplastic resin sheet is subjected to a stretch forming to prepare an original masking material, and a masking material having a dimension and a shape matching with the portion to be masked is produced through subjecting the original masking material to a heat treatment at a temperature of the softening temperature of the thermoplastic resin sheet or higher. The method can provide a masking material which does not undergo shrinking deformation even when heated thereafter, for example, during the use thereof, since the above heat treatment decreases the residual stress in the formed product.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un matériau de masquage, consistant à soumettre une couche de résine thermoplastique à un formage par étirage pour préparer un matériau de masquage de départ, puis à produire un matériau de masquage dont les dimensions et la forme correspondent à celles de la partie à masquer en soumettant le matériau de masquage de départ à un traitement thermique, à une température supérieure ou égale à la température de ramollissement de la couche de résine thermoplastique. Ce procédé permet d'obtenir un matériau de masquage qui ne se déforme pas par rétrécissement, même lorsqu'il est chauffé, lors de son utilisation, par exemple, car le traitement thermique décrit ci-dessus réduit la contrainte résiduelle dans le produit formé.
