Abstract This invention relates to a method for forming branch pipes on the periphery of a pipe such as a monifold for automobiles and is characterized in that the branch pipes are formed by bulging process to have a predetermined thickness without thinning. The first invention method comprising a step of indenting a pipe material by press work or the like at locations close to the position of a projection in a preliminary deforming process. The second invention method comprises the first step of forming a bulge mold to have fixed spaces and variable spaces for forming plural projection therefrom and bulging the pipe material with the variable spaces being occupied with the detachable members, and the second step of removing the detachable members form the mold and then bulging the pipe material again.
