A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN INSULATION FOR HIGH TENSION DEVICES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In the insulation of high tension devices an insulating foil is wound as a continuous band on an insulating body. A continuous metal foil band is fed to a weakening station where the band is provided with spaced weakenings transversal to the running direction of the band. This weakened metal foil band is wound between insulating foil layers on the insulating body. The metal foil band is retained at a retaining station at desired moments and for desired periods of time so that the metal foil band is torn off along one weakening which is situated, in the running direction of the band, after the retaining station and before the insulating body.
