METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COVERED ELECTRODE FOR ARC WELDING ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a method for manufacturing a covered electrode for arc welding which comprises pressure- coating a coating composition containing an aqueous alkali silicate solution as major binder and a particulate inorganic matter comprising an inorganic oxide, carbonate and fluoride around a core wire, the improvement which is characterized by incorporating 0.001 to 5.0% by weight, based on the alkali silicate, of pullulan in said coating composition.
