The invention concerns a method for measuring the electrical characteristics of a telecommunication cable (10) comprising a bundle of electric wires (11) transporting an operating voltage (U) delivered by an equipment (15) with ground reference, arranged in an insulating sheath comprising a conductive shield (12). The invention is characterised in that it comprises a step which consists in measuring the insulating resistance (R¿iso?) of the shield (12) relative to the ground, a step which consists in determining a global insulating resistance (R¿i?) of the bundle of wires (11) relative to the conductive shield (12) from the result of the measurement of the insulating resistance (R¿iso?) and the electric potential (P¿e?) of the shield. The invention is useful for characterising or maintaining telecommunication cables.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de mesure des caractéristiques électriques d'un câble de télécommunication (10) comprenant un faisceau de fils électriques (11) véhiculant une tension de service (U) délivrée par un équipement (15) référencé à la terre, agencé dans une gaine isolante comportant un écran conducteur (12). Selon l'invention, le procédé comprend une étape de mesure de la résistance (Riso) d'isolement de l'écran (12) relativement à la terre, une étape de mesure du potentiel électrique (Pe) de l'écran (12) relativement à la terre, et une étape de détermination d'une résistance globale (Ri) d'isolement du faisceau de fils électrique (11) relativement à l'écran conducteur (12), à partir du résultat des mesures de la résistance d'isolement (Riso) et du potentiel électrique (Pe) de l'écran. Application à la caractérisation ou à la maintenance des câbles de télécommunication.
