2100882 9311260 PCTABS00022 This invention relates to a method for measuring the fibrinolytic capacity of whole plasma. This method comprises coating a solid support with a plasminogen binding material such as polylysine, fibrinogen or fibrin, adding a plasma sample or control and then measuring the amount of plasmin bound to the support. This method is particularly advantageous as the immobilized plasminogen binding material provides a surface which mimics the in vivo surface of a fibrin clot.
