The invention relates to a method for measuring three-dimensional objects by a single view backbit shadowgraphy using optical laws of light propagation. In order to measure an object (32), for example a hollow sphere translucent or transparent with respect to visible light with the aid of Snell-Descartes law related to the light propagation through an object, the inventive method consists in determining an equation relating the object opto-geometrical parameters with the result of observation carried out directly on the object image, wherein said image is obtainable by observing said object using a single view backlit shadowgraphy, in acquiring said image, in carrying out an observation and in determining at least one geometrical or optical parameter of the object with the aid of the equation and the observation result.

Procédé de mesure d'objets tridimensionnels par ombroscopie optique à une seule vue, utilisant les lois optiques de la propagation de la lumière. Selon l'invention, pour mesurer un objet (32), par exemple une sphère creuse, translucide ou transparente vis à vis d'une lumière visible, à l'aide des lois de Snell-Descartes, relatives à la propagation de la lumière à travers l'objet, on établit une équation qui relie des paramètres opto-géométriques de l'objet au résultat d'une observation effectuée directement sur une image de l'objet, cette image étant acquise en observant cet objet par ombroscopie à une seule vue, on acquiert cette image, on effectue l'observation, et l'on détermine au moins un paramètre géométrique ou optique de l'objet à l'aide de l'équation et du résultat de l'observation.
