La méthodologie met en place un programme d'audit interne comprenant les étapes suivantes : obtenir un engagement de participation au programme d'audit, effectuer une base de référence et produire un résultat, enregistrer chronologiquement la date de l'audit, mettre en place un plan d'action, après l'acceptation du rapport d'audit par la gestion du site, mettre en place une révision du plan d'action, mettre en place un audit croisé, et finalement mettre en place des dates d'audit ultérieures. Si tous les critères sont respectés, un certificat est délivré au site.
