METHOD FOR REMOVING MONOFREQUENCY NOISE ABSTRACT A method for removing monofrequency noise in seismic data is disclosed wherein an estimate of the noise signal is removed from the acquired seismic data and an error is determined. Whenever the absolute value of the error exceeds a predetermined amount, the noise signal is modified to reduce the error. The noise signal is modified until the error falls within predetermined limits.
