ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE According to the invention an almost isothermal tempera- ture profile of the reactor content, especially for thermally and pressure-stressed hydrogenation reactors in the sump phase, as well as utilization of the heat of reaction to be drawn off is achieved in that the largest portion of the heat of reaction is used for heating charges free of solids in the casing chamber of reactors and by way of comparison only small quantities of cold gas are used for adjusting the isothermal temperature profile.
