Patent

CA 2270929

An improved method and apparatus for transmitting data between a transceiver (10) and transcoder (15) pair of a cellular radio system is disclosed. A pair of transceiver-transcoder-links (40) normally transmitted on two separate channels are broken into a series of four bit data segments (45) which are multiplexed together into series of eight bit timeslots (50) for transmission between a transceiver (10) and a transcoder (15) pair.
