ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus for determining the saturation temperature of a solution using the principle that a change in the temperature of the solution causes a correlatable change in light transmitted through the solution. The apparatus, unlike prior art apparatus, prevents the condensation of steam evolved from a test solution in the vicinity of a test cell; and the method overcomes the problem of suspending solute crystals in the test solution by depositing such crystals on an inner surface of the test cell. The apparatus and method disclosed provide accurate and precise results.
