METHOD FOR PLATING ASPARTAME ON CITRIC ACID IN POWDERED MIXES ABSTRACT The invention relates to a process for plating APM on citric acid in aspartame-sweetened powdered mixes. The process comprises mixing APM with anhydrous citric acid in a sealed environment, applying heat to raise the blend temperature to from 120° to 150°F while simultaneously aggitating the blend and controlling the relative humidity within the sealed environment at a level of from 35% to 65%. These conditions are maintained for a time period effective to plate the APM on the citric acid. Thereafter the plated APM citric acid product is cooled. 30030-D * Trade Mark
