Abstract of the Disclosure Apparatus and method for placing fiber optic cable within a conduit. A carrier belt is disclosed which has means defining a channel extending therealong. The cable is lodged within the channel before entering the conduit, and the assembly of belt and cable are drawn through the conduit by pulling on the belt whereby the cable is isolated from tension developed by the pulling operation.
