2083842 9217174 PCTABS00016 A process for preparing a stable aqueous suspension containing microcrystals of 5-(3-ethoxy-4-n-pentyloxyphenyl)thiazolidine-2,4-dione suitable as eye drops for treating praticularly corneal deseases, which comprises adding an acid to an aqueous solution of 5-(3-ethoxy-4-n-pentyloxyphenyl)thiazolidine-2,4-dione and at least one member selected from among polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, methylcellulose and hydroxyethylcellulose, said solution having a pH of at least 8, to lower the pH below 7.
