The invention concerns a method for preparing a fatty substance ester, characterised in that it consists in subjecting to an esterification reaction at least a fatty substance with at least an alcohol compound selected from the group consisting of sterols, stanols, 4-methylsterols and their hydrogenated homologues, triterpene alcohols and their hydrogenated homologues, and mixtures thereof, in the presence of at least a solid catalyst selected in the group consisting of lanthanide oxides and the mixtures of said oxides. Said method enables to obtain products particularly suited for use in the field of pharmaceutics, in particular dermatology, cosmetics and special food production (functional food products, medicinal food products and dietetic food products)

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de préparation d'un ester de corps gras, caractérisé en ce que l'on soumet à une réaction d'estérification au moins un corps gras avec au moins un composé alcool choisi dans le groupe constitué par les stérols, les stanols, les 4-méthylstérols et leurs homologues hydrogénés, les alcools triterpéniques et leurs homologues hydrogénés, et les mélanges de ceux-ci, en présence d'au moins un catalyseur solide choisi dans le groupe constitué par les oxydes de lanthanides et les mélanges de ces oxydes. Ce procédé permet d'obtenir des produits particulièrement adaptés à une utilisation dans les domaines de la pharmacie, notamment de la dermatologie, de la cosmétique et de l'alimentation particulière (aliments fonctionnels, alicaments, cosmetofood).
