The preparation of gaseous products from the thermal decomposition of 1,2- dichloroethane is simplified if the cracked gas is cooled down to a temperature ranging from approximately 150 to 180 ~C. Only one subordinated portion which contains the entire amount of formed coke is condensed and fed to a separate preparation.
