The invention concerns a method for preparing functionalised polyalkylenimines useful for formulation of nucleic acids designed to be transfected into cells. Said method consists in treating polyalkylenimines with a functionalised hemiacetal in the presence of titanium (IV) isopropoxide and sodium borohydride.
