A method for the preparation of oxycodone, and salts thereof, from codeine comprising oxidation of codeine to codeinone, formation of an dienolsilyl ether congener of codeinone in strong amine base, oxidation of the dienolsilyl ether congener using peracetic acid, and hydrogenation of the resulting 14- hydroxycodeinone product.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de l'oxycodone, et des sels de celle-ci, à partir de codéine. Ce procédé consiste à oxyder de la codéine de manière à obtenir de la codéinone; à former un éther dienolsilyle congénère de la codéinone en base amine forte; à oxyder l'éther dienolsilyle congénère à l'aide d'un acide péracétique; puis à hydrogéner le produit 14-hydroxycodéinone obtenu.
