TITLE OF THE INVENTION: METHOD FOR PREPARING SHAPED MATERIAL OF COLLAGEN ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A method for the preparation of a collagen shaped material having a high mechanical strength, wherein a refined material of collagen is finely divided into collagen fiber followed by forming the shaped material from the fiber, character- ized in that the refined material of collagen is swollen with an aqueous acidic solution in the presence of a hydrophilic organic solvent before the finely dividing step and a gelatin or a solu- ble collagen may or may not be added to the acid-swollen material of collagen or the collagen fiber before the forming step.
