A system is described for preventing corrosion of a vessel, made of a corrodible material, which has a bottom having an outer surface, which consists in detecting the appearance of water at the outer surface of the bottom of the vessel. This is done by providing a casing surrounding at least a part of the outer surface of the bottom of the vessel, defining a leaktight enclosure between it and the vessel, and a detector of the presence of water is mounted on the outer surface of the bottom of the vessel.
