A method for preventing the replication of cryptosporidium parvum oocysts and similar organisms comprising irradiating water with a broad band of ultraviolet light in doses from about 10 mJ/cm2 to about 175 mJ/cm2, wherein said broadband is a frequency of 200 to 300 nm using a medium pressure lamp.
L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à prévenir la réplication d'oocystes de Cryptosporidium parvum et d'organismes identiques. Ce procédé consiste à irradier l'eau, à l'aide d'une large bande d'un rayonnement ultraviolet produit par une lampe à moyenne pression, à des doses variant environ entre 10 mJ/cm?2¿ et 175 mJ/cm?2¿, la large bande étant une fréquence située entre 200 et 300 nm.
