The invention concerns a method for processing an analog signal whereof the frequency spectrum includes on a specific bandwidth two main lobes separated by a frequency band whereof the power is negligible. Said method comprises a sampling step in accordance with a specific sampling frequency, and prior to said sampling step, a step which consists in a frequency translation of the two main lobes towards each other so as to reduce the bandwidth and hence the sampling frequency.
