ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A method for processing coal hydrogenation residues by vacuum distillation, which comprises distilling coal hydrogenation residue under reduced pressure in a one-shaft or multi-shaft worm apparatus resulting in the recovery of volatilized gases and vapors, withdrawing the unvolatilized residue from the apparatus, and passing the withdrawn residue to a cooling and granulating device.
