The invention concerns a method for processing images using automatic georeferencing of images derived from a pair of images acquired by two sensors arranged in a single focal plane which consists in geometrically registering images based on the generation of a digital terrain model in low stereoscopic base and on the calculation of position offsets between the points of the digital terrain model taken as reference and their counterparts identified in the generated digital terrain model. Said method is applicable in automatic georeferencing of airborne and satellite images.

Un procédé de traitement d~images mettant en oeuvre le géoréférencement d~images issues d~un couple d~images acquis par deux capteurs disposés dans un unique plan focal propose un recalage géométrique des images basé sur la génération d~un modèle numérique de terrain (MNT) en faible base stéréoscopique et sur le calcul de décalages de position entre les points d~un MNT pris comme référence et leurs homologues identifiés dans le MNT généré. Ce procédé trouve une application dans le géoréférencement automatique d~images aéroportées et satellitaires.
