The invention relates to a method for producing 1,6 hexane diol from a mixture of carboxylic acids containing hexanedioic acid, 6-hydroxy caproic acid and small quantities of 1,4 cyclohexane diol, said mixture being a by-product obtained during the oxidation of cyclohexane to cyclohexanone/cyclohexanol using oxygen or gases containing oxygen by the extraction of water from the reaction mixture, the method including the esterification of the acids and subsequent hydrogenation. According to said method, the alcohol is separated from the mixtures of alcohols and low-boilers obtained after esterification and/or hydrogenation by a membrane system and is returned to the esterification step.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour produire du 1,6-hexanediol à partir d'un acide adipique, d'un mélange d'acide carboxylique contenant de l'acide caproïque 6-hydroxy et de petites quantités de 1,4-cyclohexanediol, ce mélange étant un sous-produit obtenu lors de l'oxydation de cyclohexane en cyclohexanone/cyclohexanol avec de l'oxygène ou des gaz contenant de l'oxygène et par extraction de l'eau du mélange réactionnel, le procédé comprenant l'estérification et l'hydrogénation des acides. A partir des mélanges obtenus après estérification et/ou hydrogénation comprenant des alcools et des substances à point d'ébullition bas, l'alcool est séparé par un système de membrane et remis à estérifier.
