The invention relates to a method for producing 1,6-hexanediol and caprolactone, preferably of at least 99.5% pu-rity, which are especially substantially free from 1,4 cyclohexanediols, starting from a carboxylic acid mixture which is obtained as a byproduct of the catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane to cyclohexanone/cyclohexanol with oxygen or gases containing oxygen and by extraction of the reaction mixture with water, and by hydrogenation of the carboxylic acid mixture, esterification and hy-drogenation of a partial flow to hexanediol and cyclization of 6-hydroxycaproic ester, the 1,4-cyclohexanediols being removed eit-her during fractionation of the esterification mixture or finally from the caprolactone.
Procédé de production de 1,6-hexanediol et de caprolactone, présentant de préférence une pureté d'au moins 99,5 %, qui sont en particulier pratiquement exempts de 1,4-cyclohexanediols, à partir d'un mélange d'acide carboxylique obtenu en tant que sous-produit de l'oxydation catalytique de cyclohexane en cyclohexanone/cyclohexanol avec de l'oxygène ou des gaz contenant de l'oxygène, et par extraction d'eau du mélange de réaction, par hydrogénation du mélange d'acide carboxylique, estérification et hydrogénation d'une partie du flux en hexanediol et cyclisation d'esters d'acide 6-hydroxycaproïque, les 1,4-hexanediols étant séparés soit lors du fractionnement du mélange d'estérification, soit ultimement du caprolactone.
