Method for Producing a Composite Center Electrode for Spark Plug Abstract The invention is directed to an improved method for producing a composite spark plug electrode (58, and 100). Initially, a cup (15 and 76) is formed from a corrosion resistant first metal and is partially filled with a billet (20 and 77) to form a composite billet (22 and 80). The composite billet (22 and 80) is partially extruded to form an electrode blank (30 and 75). A cup opening (39 and 91) is formed in the end of the electrode blank which was formed from the open end of the cup (15 and 76), an end of a terminal wire (40 and 60) is positioned within the cup opening (39 and 91) and the electrode blank walls adjacent the cup opening (30 and 91) are deformed inwardly to interconnect the electrode blank (30 and 75) with the terminal wire (40 and 60).
