The aim of the invention is to produce a flame-resistant veneer or composite material having different core materials (4) without adding salts or other commercial fire-retardant materials. To this end, liquid is drawn out from the pores of the veneer (1) by heat treatment and is replaced by resin, and the veneer is, if required, subsequently subjected to a refining process.

L'invention vise à produire une feuille de placage ou un matériau composite difficile à enflammer, le matériau composite comportant différents matériaux intérieurs (4), sans adjonction de sels ou d'autres substances ignifuges classiques. A cet effet, il est prévu selon l'invention, d'extraire le liquide de la feuille de placage (1), par ses pores, par traitement thermique et de le remplacer par de la résine, puis d'effectuer ensuite, au besoin, un processus d'ennoblissement.
