A method of manufacturing an expandable element (1) for use as a support body of a piece of furniture or a part thereof, a mattress, a cushion or the like, said element (1) having a thin wall of a soft, flexible polymeric material, by blow-moulding in an essentially closed form, wherein during the blow-moulding process at least one portion (3) of the wall of the element is pressed inwardly to a position where it is brought to permanently adhere (at 4) to another portion of the wall of the element or another portion of the wall which is pressed inwardly. The invention also concerns an inflatable element so produced.
Méthode de fabrication d'un élément extensible (1) servant de support à un meuble ou à une partie de celui-ci, à un matelas, à un coussin ou à d'autre objets de ce type, ledit élément (1) possédant une paroi faite avec un matériau polymère souple et doux, moulée par soufflage dans une forme sensiblement fermée; lors du moulage par soufflage, on pousse vers l'intérieur au moins une partie (3) de la paroi de l'élément pour la mettre en une position dans laquelle elle adhère de façon permanente (au point 4) à une autre partie de la paroi de l'élément ou à une autre partie poussée vers l'intérieur. L'invention concerne également un élément gonflable obtenu au moyen du procédé décrit.
