An aluminum hydroxide having high purity with high brightness and a method for producing such an aluminum hydroxide are provided. The aluminum hydroxide may be produced by a method which comprises the steps of mixing a crude aluminum hydroxide with an alkaline solution to obtain a mixture thereof; heating the mixture to obtain a slurry in which a solid of aluminum hydroxide is present in an amount of from about 10% by weight to about 90% by weight based on the crude aluminum hydroxide to be used for the mixing; cooling the slurry to precipitate an aluminum hydroxide; and separating the resulting aluminum hydroxide from the slurry.

La présente invention a pour objet un hydroxyde d'aluminium très pur et très brillant et une méthode pour le préparer. L'hydroxyde d'aluminium peut être préparé à l'aide d'une méthode qui consiste à mélanger un hydroxyde d'aluminium brut avec une solution alcaline, à chauffer ce mélange pour obtenir une pâte liquide dans laquelle la quantité d'hydroxyde d'aluminium solide atteint entre environ 10 % en poids et 90 % en poids de l'hydroxyde d'aluminium brut utilisé pour le mélange, à refroidir la pâte liquide pour précipiter l'hydroxyde d'aluminium et à séparer cet hydroxyde d'aluminium de la pâte liquide.
