The invention relates to a method for producing amino- or hydroxybenzonitriles during which, within the scope of an ammonolysis, the corresponding amino- or hydroxybenzoic acid compounds are reacted with ammonia in the presence of a phosphate-containing supported catalyst at temperatures between 250 ~C and 500 ~C. The actual production step is carried out in a reaction gas (mixture) and without the involvement of an organic solvent and is followed by an at least 2- stage purification step. Firstly, the gaseous mixture obtained from the production step is converted into an aqueous basic suspension, and the product contained in the solid matter is subsequently released from this suspension. The main advantage of this combined method is that it does not start by using esters which is why the obtained products, in contrast to conventional methods, are free of the otherwise usual by-products whereby leading to a high product purity. In addition, the claimed method can be carried out in the utmost economical manner since the final product and the by-products in the used suspension exist in different states of aggregation and, therefore, can be easily separated from one another. This makes it possible to obtain solvent- free benzonitriles, which contain amino or hydroxy groups, with a high yield and with a distinctly improved product quality.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire des aminobenzonitriles ou des hydroxybenzonitriles, selon lequel dans le cadre d'une ammonolyse, les composés d'acide amino- ou hydroxybenzoïque correspondants sont mis à réagir avec de l'ammoniac en présence d'un catalyseur supporté, à base de phosphate, à des températures comprises entre 250 et 500 °C. La principale étape du procédé est effectuée dans un gaz de réaction(mélange de gaz de réaction) et sans participation d'un solvant organique. Cette étape est suivie d'une étape de purification en deux parties. A cet effet, tout d'abord le mélange gazeux obtenu à l'issue de l'étape de production est converti en une suspension basique aqueuse et ensuite le produit obtenu sous forme solide est libéré de la suspension. Le principal avantage de ce procédé combiné réside dans le fait qu'on ne part pas d'esters, ce qui explique que, contrairement aux procédés habituels, les produits obtenus sont exempts des produits secondaires sinon habituels, ce qui permet de parvenir à des produits de grande pureté. Le procédé selon l'invention peut en outre être mis en oeuvre de manière extrêmement économique, étant donné que le produit final et les produits secondaires de la suspension utilisée se trouvent dans différents états d'agrégation et peuvent par conséquent être aisément séparés les uns des autres. L'invention permet de ce fait d'obtenir des rendements élevés de benzonitriles exempts de solvants, contenant des groupes amino ou hydroxy, de qualité nettement améliorée.
