The invention relates to a hard material alloy produced by a melting process and based on titanium carbide with carbides, nitrides, and/or borides of sub- groups IV, Vb and VIb of the periodic system of elements. The titanium carbide content ranges from 10-99.9 mol. % and the carbide, nitride and/or boride content ranges from 0.1-90 mol. %. The invention also relates to other possible constituents of said alloy and to appropriate methods of production and uses thereof.
L'invention concerne un alliage dur obtenu par un procédé de fusion, à base de carbure de titane et comportant des carbures, nitrures ou borures des sous-groupes IVb, Vb et VIb de la classification périodique des éléments. La teneur en carbure de titane est comprise entre 10 et 99,9 mole % et la teneur en carbures, nitrures ou borures se situe entre 0,1 et 90 mole %. L'invention précise également d'autres constituants possibles de l'alliage et concerne en outre des procédés de production appropriés ainsi que des modes d'utilisation.
