Pour fabriquer un vitrage automobile 25 équipé d'un cadre en élastomère 14 on extrude un polymère thermoplastique à partir d'une extrudeuse 1, d'un tuyau chauffant à haute pression 8 et d'une tête d'extrusion 10. La tête d'extrusion 10 est conduite grâce à un robot programmé le long du bord du vitrage 25. Le vitrage 25 est déposé sur une forme 22 sur laquelle il repose par sa surface inférieure tandis que la forme est en continuité grâce à sa surface supérieure avec la surface inférieure du vitrage. Le procédé permet l'extrusion de cadres profilés qui peuvent corriger les tolérances des vitrages.
