ABSTRACT A plant cell suspension culture to derive azadirachtin-producing cells is described. The culture overcomes the disadvantages of the present processes of seed extraction. The culture allows for the continuous production of azadirachtin that is free of pathogens and toxins, independent of enviromnental conditions. It yields a predictable quantity and quality of bioactive product and permits continuous production at a desired, contained location.
