A method for producing a .beta.-nitrostyrene compound is provided in which a benzaldehyde derivative represented by the following formula (I): [Chemical Formula 1] (see formula I) and nitromethane are condensed in an acetic acid solvent in the presence of a primary amine. This method allows production of a .beta.-nitrostyrene compound at a high yield in the industrially-safe reaction temperature range.

La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de production d'un composé de ß-nitrostyrène dans lequel un dérivé de benzaldéhyde représenté par la formule (I) ci-dessus et du nitrométhane sont condensés dans un solvant d'acide acétique en présence d'une amine primaire. Ce procédé permet de produire un composé de ß-nitrostyrène avec un rendement élevé au sein d'une plage de températures réactionnelles sans risque au niveau industriel.
