It is intended to provide a method for producing a C-glycoside derivative at high yield and low cost, which conforms to environmental protection and is industrially applicable. The C-glycoside derivative is useful for treating and preventing diabetes mellitus such as insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type 1 diabetes) and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type 2 diabetes), and also various diabetes-related diseases including insulin-resistant diseases and obesity.
