ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Method and apparatus for the production of wall members of an inflated wall shelter or the like. A continuous tubular plastic is supplied from a supply roll and wound around an elongated winding section having two end rolls, the distance between the two rolls being preferably equal to one-half of the desired breadth of the final wall product, or equal to integral multiples of the desired breadth. The tubular plastic supplied from the supply roll is provided with a continuous strip of a predetermined breadth of adhesive on its surface prior to entering the winding area, the adhesive strip defining the joint between adjacent plastic "tubes". When appropriate number of convolutes (depending on the desired length of the final product) is wound up, the supply of the tubular plastic is cut off and the wound product is cut, preferably along a line parallel with the axis of the end rolls, and the resulting stack is removed from the winding section. Finally, a rod is inserted into each of the top and bottom plastic tubes of the stack. by pulling the rods apart, the stack can be "unfolded" or spread to its entire length, thus obtaining a shelter wall structure having a plurality of side-by-side tubes with adjacent tubes being joined by the adhesive strip.
