The invention relates to a method that operates using (i) a matrix of predetermined responses (2) which is coupled to a corresponding matrix of multiple-choice questions (3) and (ii) a base (4) of information associated with said responses and with predetermined combinations of said responses. In a computer (8) where said responses and the information (9) from said base are associated, the inputting by an individual user (6) of responses (5) to the multiple-choice questions on a data terminal (7) enables a retrieval program (10) to retrieve from said information base the information (11) relating to the responses entered and the combinations thereof and also enables an assembly program (12) to group together the retrieved information in order to produce the sought data media (1). The retrieval guided by the responses to the questionnaire provides a customised element.
