The invention relates to a method for producing low-sulphur petrol from an initial petrol containing sulphur compounds comprising the following steps: a) the selective hydrogenation of the non-aromatic polyunsaturated compounds present in the initial petrol; b) increasing the molecular weight of the light sulphur products that were initially present in the petrol at the beginning of step b); c) the alkylation of at least part of the sulpur compounds present in the product resulting from step b); d) the fractionation of the petrol resulting from step c) into at least two fractions, one of said fractions being practically free of sulphur compounds and the other containing a larger proportion of sulphur compounds (heavy petrol); e) the catalytic treatment of the heavy petrol to transform the sulphur compounds in conditions that allow the, at least partial, decomposition or hydrogenation of said sulphur compounds.
Production d'essences à faible teneur en soufre à partir d'une essence initiale contenant des composés soufrés comprenant une étape a) d'hydrogénation sélective des composés polyinsaturés non aromatiques présents dans l'essence initiale, une étape b) visant à augmenter le poids moléculaire des produits soufrés légers présents initialement dans l'essence entrant dans cette étape, une étape c) d'alkylation d'au moins une partie des composés soufrés présents dans le produit issu de l'étape b), une étape d) de fractionnement de l'essence issue de l'étape c) en au moins deux fractions, l'une pratiquement dépourvue de composés soufrés, l'autre contenant une proportion plus importante de composés soufrés (essence lourde), une étape e) de traitenent catlytique de l'essence lourde de tranformation des composés soufrés dans des conditions permettant de décomposer ou d'hydrogéner au moins partiellement ces composés soufrés.
