AN IMPROVED METHOD FOR PRODUCING DISPERSION STRENGTHENED ALUMINUM ALLOYS ABSTRACT A process is provided for obtaining low density aluminum-base alloys having high strength in the forged condition comprising an interrelated control of the extrusion and forging conditions. Dispersion strengthened mechanically alloyed aluminum-base alloys containing magnesium and lithium which benefit from such process are disclosed. The alloys may contain silicon.
