The invention relates to a method for producing helical springs or stabilisers consisting of steel. According to said method, the parent material is heated to a temperature in excess of the re-crystallisation temperature, the structure is austenitised, held at an equalised temperature and then formed and subsequently quenched to form martensite and tempered. Round steel bars, whose re-crystallisation temperature is adjusted over the bar length in a compensation furnace, constitute the parent material. The round steel bars are subsequently re-modelled by cross-rolling, remaining substantially straight and after the critical deformation degree has been exceeded are subjected to dynamic re-crystallisation processes. The round steel bars are then subjected to a post-heating process above the Ac3 temperature, in order to undergo a complete static re-crystallisation, are wound to form a helical spring or bent to form a stabiliser and are finally quenched from the austenitic state to form martensite and tempered.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de ressorts hélicoïdaux ou de stabilisateurs en acier, dans lequel le matériau de départ est chauffé à une température supérieure à la température de recristallisation, la structure est austénitisée, maintenue à un équilibre de température, puis déformée et, enfin trempée en martensite et revenue, procédé caractérisé en ce que le matériau de départ est formé en barres rondes en acier, dont la température de recristallisation est équilibrée dans un four d'égalisation, sur toute la longueur des barres, en ce que les barres rondes sont ensuite transformées par laminage oblique, tout en demeurant sensiblement linéaires et, après dépassement du taux de transformation critique, soumises à des processus de recristallisation dynamiques, en ce que lesdites barres sont soumises, en vue d'une recristallisation statique complète, à un réchauffage au-dessus de la température Ac3, puis enroulées de manière à former un ressort hélicoïdal, ou cintrées de manière à former un stabilisateur, puis trempées d'austénite en martensite et revenues.
