A method for printing an image on a surface of a substrate having a surface finish defined by a gloss, the method comprising: printing an image on the surface of the substrate, such that image areas thereof have a thickness, when fixed to the substrate and dry, of less than about 6 micrometers of a thermoplastic material; and smoothing the surface of at least a portion of the thermoplastic material.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'impression d'une image sur une surface d'un substrat présentant un fini de surface délimité par un brillant. Le procédé consiste à imprimer une image sur la surface du substrat de sorte que les zones d'image de ce dernier présentent une épaisseur qui, lorsque l'image est fixée au substrat et séchée, est inférieure à environ 6 micromètres d'un matériau thermoplastique. Le procédé consiste ensuite à lisser la surface d'au moins une partie du matériau thermoplastique.
