The invention relates to a method for producing highly pure LiBF4 by preparing a solution of BF3 etherate in diethyl ether, suspending LiF in this solution, converting same into solid LiBF4 and then separating the resulting solid LiBF4. The invention also relates to the use of LiBF4 obtained in this manner for the production of lithium-ion batteries.
