A method for producing human pancreatic phospholipase A2 is provided, that comprises the steps of, introducing a plasmid capable of expressing human pancreatic phospholipase A2 into yeast cells; culturing said yeast cells in a culture medium to induce the secretion of human pancreatic phospholipase A2; and recovering the secreted human pancreatic phospholipase A2 from the culture medium.
