A method of fabricating the composite metal-and-plastic components of an antiballistic grill for an armored vehicle. Each component comprises a core in the form of a length of structural section with layers of plastic against each side bonded to the core by heat and pressure in a mold comprising two halves. The object of the present invention is simpler and more economical lamination in the fabrication of non-flat work with a metal core. The core is electrically heated to a prescribed processing temperature by regulating a current of electricity, whereby the resulting heat is employed to soften to a prescribed extent adhesive between the core and the layers of plastic to be bonded to it.
Cette invention concerne une méthode de fabrication des éléments composites métal-plastique d'un grillage antibalistique pour véhicule blindé. Chaque élément comporte un noyau allongé sur les deux faces duquel sont collées des couches de plastique dans un moule bicoquille chauffé et serré à force. L'objet de l'invention permet une stratification plus simple et plus économique en fabrication de pièces composites profilées à noyau métallique. Ce noyau est chauffé par induction électrique à la température voulue que l'on obtient en régulant de façon appropriée le courant appliqué, la chaleur générée servant à amollir convenablement l'adhésif appliqué entre le noyau et les couches de plastique formant le stratifié.
